2UP > 3UP Conversion

Hey guys,

I am planning on ordering my spark in the near future and have been contemplating which model to get. I am aware that power wise it is just a tune and I plan on solving that with a V Tech tune. I have seen a little bit of info but not as much as I would like to have found on this topic. From my understanding if I were to purchase the 2UP, you can purchase the extension and also seat afterwards. Is this 100% true and just a plug and play? No fabrication is required? Roughly how much would both features be (without install), or if you have seen or have a part number that would be great.

Best regards

i havent read much about a 3up conversion

dont think anyone has done it yet
292001492 HULL EXTENSION (IBR SYSTEM) 91.99
292001504 REAR DECK EXTENSION FLOAT (IBR SYSTEM) 52.99
292001505 LH EXTENSION FLOAT (IBR SYSTEM) 16.99
292001506 RH EXTENSION FLOAT (IBR SYSTEM) 16.99
269002437 SEAT ASS'Y (3UP) 498.99

= 677.95

Thats what I could find for parts, not sure if anything is missing or extra.

You can't order a 2UP 60 hp with ibr from the factory. If that's not important to you, then everything else is bolt on, no fabrication necessary. They're the exact same hulls.

did they bake IBR into the HO package?
I would be interested in doing this after a vtech tune, my only concern would be DNR and the passenger rating.. Wonder if the sticker could be purchased to make it a 3 person device?

if anyone ends up converting over - take some photos of the progress :)

No. You can get HO without iBR, and you can get iBR without HO on the 3UP. You just can't get it on the 2UP without HO.

The 3 up has the HO engine only. No 60 hp 3 up
So the 2up can have the rear deck extension added on to it?

Why would you go through all that and not just buy the 3up. Sounds penny wise and pound foolish. Yes you'll get 2 more mph with the tune but by time your done you'll spend more money , put in your own valuable time, compromise the warranty, and in the end you may not be able to pull someone. I don't get it. I also saw a performance graph of the HO verses the v-tech without all the other performance additions and you needed a magnifying glass to see the difference.
Will these parts work on a Spark without the IBR?
Trust me if your going to have more than one person get a 3 up and buy the 2up rear plastic so you can have the longer seat. It's an additional 700 for the seat and brackets. It's just cheaper to go from 3 to 2 up

This is the entire reason, imo, to purchase a 3up. The sticker. You can't recert a hull for a different rating after it's been manufactured without incurring more cost than the actual spark was worth. For those states that require an observer while towing (skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, etc), the 3 up is the only legal option.

I already have a 2 up and me and my daughter rode it just fine I just want the longer hull for stability, the only 3 up i could find within a reasonable drive is a floor model with a bunch of add ons that I don't want, I can get a 2 up which is all I want because I will hardly ever have more than myself onboard, I have a boat for that. I just need to know if there are different hull extensions for a spark with and without IBR.
I can't find anything to suggest they are different...I don't believe they are since it was a modular design. Here is a link to a parts diagram to help though:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche...e=seadoopwc&a=22&b=21&c=0&d=-BODY---HULL-VIEW
If anyone has done this, can you tell me how many of the screws you need, from the diagram is looks like you need items 6 and 10 but it's hard to tell how many of each.

Thanks
