2up with 3up hull extension fitted

Hi folks, I know this subject has been covered already but there was nothing really conclusive to say whether it worked or not.

I would like to fit the 3 up hull extension parts to my 2 up for a bit more stability.

I think there is a list of parts that are needed on one of the posts on here,

Has anybody actually fitted the parts on the list successfully, here in the UK one of the main dealers said it can,t be done !!

I have a non IBR 90HO 2up.

I think it probably can be done, but it doesn't make sense from a cost point of view, by the time you buy all the parts you need you would be cheaper to buy a 3up.

I know, you already have this one, but if you think about it you could likely sell the one you have and buy a 2015 model they way you want it, it will cost you a little more money but yours is already depreciated anyways, taking a 2up and converting it will never be worth as much as a 3up from the factory, you have just modified it and most people will want to stay away from it in a resale perspective.

if you wanted a little more stability when driving you could add some R&D trim tabs, that will give you some more stability when you are underway, not going to help much with just sitting in the water though!
Totally concur with Wrench!

I would add though, that they get much more stable as you gain experience. I was in what I considered pretty large waves and after a while I was jumping one wave and then turning the ski sideways into the next wave to sort of 'surf' it. Never felt any concerns re: stability. That said, I am 150 pounds and I gather the experience would be different if I weighed more.

I'd have to agree with you too, with experience the side rolling will seem more normal and you will learn to expect it and not overreact to it.

I think its the instability that makes it so much fun to ride! You could ride a more stable machine like a GTI or a GTX but not as much fun to throw around!

I have more fun playing on my 2 seater than the 3 seater!
Yea, seems like you should have bought the 3up in the first place, or you could just go ahead and sell your 2up to buy a 3up instead. Doing this DIY work seems like it would be more trouble than its worth, and also fairly expensive.
i removed my 3up extension bc i wanted it less stable like an older x5 hull. i will gladly sell you with the extra hardware if you are interested. its just collecting dust, and i dont see myself ever putting it back on.
Pics of 3 up with out the extention I want to upgade my seat to 3 up but not sure it will look right

Hi there, I have set you a private message....

Cheers
It would be cheaper buying the 3up unless you know someone like me that has a 3uo but wants the 2 I am thinking about selling my rear deck and 3 up seat
Yes it can be done....I have done this exercise!
Freight costs make this an expensive exercise....Im 250lbs...I think it has made the 2 up more stable.....the extension contains 2 more floats. Easily bolted on..contact me [email protected] if more info req.

Hiya, I wouldn,t mind the hull extension/rear deck. I don,t need the seat.

I am from the UK, obviously I would pay the shipping costs.

Many thanks.

Want to sell or trade your 3up parts for my 2up?
If you think the spark isn't stable you should try riding a Sea-Doo from the mid 90's! Its practically a canoe! My 94' SPI is tippy as **** but that's what makes it fun
ok I ordered all the pieces to make my 2up a 3up waiting for parts, also going to aqua-performance to install a real reboard step on my spark.. pictures coming up!

Thats what I am worried about. Does the 2up spark make those 94 Sea doo's seem like unicycles?

Oh yeah, I can stand on the edge of either side on the spark without worry of it flipping, With any 90's seadoo if you lean over too much to one side you're gonna be swimming!
