Yes its fairly common in whale session lucky to see them when it happens they are gentle and don't bite

Lets hope thats true. How close have you got to them?

they can get real close I have had them about 4m away but that is not common this whale hasn't read the rule book

That's a pretty cool experience to have. When I lived in BC you would see dolphins and killer whales around in the water when you were on a ferry or boating. It makes you feel really connected to nature. Never knew there were whales like that off Australia.
