Hey guys I've heard that some people aren't happy with the impeller and that it rusts very quickly. ( I will be sure to use fluid film and salt away on it )

but... I'm sure many people will be replacing it quickly or down the road so if you have post here what kind you got / where you got it and what you think of it as time goes on.

I myself and I'm sure others will be looking for suggestions on these..

I got the solas impeller didn't install it yet. I didn't get it as a performance part, I simply got it to have a clean impeller and know down the road it will not be rusted up. All tho the extra boost it might give me would be a plus

Yes reading through all the threads is a great diea, you will learn what you were looking for and even things you weren't. My buddy has the solas but without a tune and unfortunately it did not provide too much of a performance gain, he does however have a shiny prop when mine is rather rusty. Mine should be coming in later this week sometime.

My solas should be here next week some time. I understand the performance may not seem like much but the 0-50 time seemed like a pretty good improvement to me. It also seems RPMs are running a little lower with this prop, even at the top end. Makes me curious if the already good gph rating will be even better with this.

Did your solas come in? Mine shipped out and came in 2 days later :)

Seems with the number of wear rings goinng, that'll mean impellers will be replaced at a higher than norm rate?
Would make sense to go ahead and do that if the impellers aren't all that great from what people are saying.

I think I heard the wear rings on Sparks are plastic? I just looked up what a wear ring is and would hope they wouldn't make that part out of plastic. I watched a video of someone checking the distance from the impeller to the wear ring and was happy I at least own feeler gauges (from adjusting the valves on my scooter ) :)

The wear rings are plastic because they are supposed to give way before a potential damaging item contacts your prop and damages it. It is insurance for your prop. There are different thoughts on this though from what it seems. My plan, at least for this year is to keep a spare, which I have on order, in case I have an issue I can swap it out. If I notice I am doing well and not causing any damage to the current ring based on my riding then maybe next year I will upgrade to a stainless, just to keep the performance tip top without having to replace.
