BRP looks as though they are not listing installation instructions on their website because they want the dealer to log your vin as completed to the recall. So, here's how to install them.
Riva racing wanted me to trailer both skis and allow them 5 WHOLE DAYS to make a couple of screw holes and tighten a few bolts! So, I bought the brackets myself instead of getting them for free. Out the door for 2 of them was 59 bucks. To be honest it looks like a very cheap fix, but since I jump waves and ride aggressively, I need it and these stereos are now 200 dollars more in cost than when I purchased them in 2020.
Once it is installed I can assure you it's solid and the speaker does not move, but the plastic locks for the knob assemblies I can see breaking in no time though after the plastic sits in the sun. I think I may shave down the tabs because you need to really push down on them to unlock it. This may prevent premature breakage I believe.
You will need:
RADIO BASE KIT SPARK- PART #295501251
10 MM deep socket- or standard with a 4 inch extension
4MM Allen key-hex head
Torx- T30 socket
9/16" drill bit and 1/8" drill bit
1) Remove the 3- T30 bolts from the radio base and front fairing and transfer to a bench or table.
2) Remove the 2- 10MM bolts that hold the radio base to the front fairing and split the parts in two- set fairing aside.
3) Line up the plastic bracket with the front of the stereo bracket facing the handle bars and secure them with vise grips or strong tape.There are two plastic guide pins that grip the edge once lined up.
4) Make 2 pilot holes using 1/8" drill bit AT AN ANGLE
5) Remove plastic bracket and drill 2 holes using the 9/16" drill bit- YOU HAVE TO DRILL AT AN ANGLE.
6) Install the plastic bracket and brass sleeves. The sleeves must protrude through the back of the stereo base. If they do not line up do not worry just ream it with the drill bit to widen the holes.
7) Install two plastic knobs- They're labeled L and R and the smaller side of the latch goes on the stereo side.
8) Install screws and slip the small plastic square washers over the brass sleeve- Place the L and R logo facing up at you so they're visible from the back side.
9) Install brass 10mm nut and tighten with 10mm socket and 4mm Allen key, but not too tight. I leave 1 thread exposed.
10) Reinstall the radio base to the fairing and then reinstall back to the ski.
I left the stickers that were provided off.
