I just put the battery back in after winter and went to start up. Started fine but check engine message is displayed after starting with the icon. Any one else have this happen? How did you fix it?

Could it be in limp mode? Did you just shut it down after you saw the check engine light?

Maybe someone else can chime in here, but when you flip the ski and it goes in limp mode, does the check engine light come on? Maybe you could let it idle for a bit until the light turns off? I would check to see if this is safe before doing it.

Haven't let it run very long yet. It's still on the trailer so haven't ran it for more than about 15 seconds. But after shutting down and restarting it sti stays on. Gonna try hooking up a water line when I get a chance and let it run longer. I don't really have anywhere to just put it oin the water to run. Have to travel a bit.

Yah same here. I would try to get it to run somewhere though. There are posts here of members flipping their skis and having the check engine light on. But after several minutes of riding it goes off and back to normal.

Was the battery on a tender? The dealer told me that the IBR if you have it) uses a lot of juice... Maybe the battery is low... And also if the exhaust is completely dry, that might have something to do with it... The first time I put mine in the water I got a check engine light and it went of after I putted around for a bit...

Apparently keeping your battery on a tender when not in use is good batter maintenance, good for battery 'health'

Something about what it does to the cells.

Same thing with my spark, took it out of winterization a week ago, ran fine for 20 minutes. This weekend put key on and it took a minute for any electronics to work, battery finally kicked in, put it in the water and 5 min later got a check engine. Not limp mode.

Took it out the other day. Started it before I left and check engine was on. Put it in the water and fired it up. Low and behold no message. I think she was just mad at me for taking so long to put her in the water. Ran fine with no problems.
