Well, with Spring here in Aus and the fact there isn't anything new on the Sparks for next year other than colours and grips I decided to take advantage of the special deal my dealer is having where they're extending the warranty for 3 years and snap up a 2 up, IBR 90HP yellow Spark.

Paid the deposit, finance approved, and pick it up in a few days.

we're going camping at our fav river spot in a week so want to get out on the Spark this weekend to run it in a bit.

we can't wait - going to be heaps of fun!

Picked it up tonight - very happy!

got a Spark cover for it too, and the trailer is awesome.
REALLY easy to tow.
Can't wait to get it on the water on Saturday

Do you have to worry about crocs, like we have to watch out for alligators here in Florida?

lol nah we live in South Australia. the crocs you're thinking of are about 3000kms away in the Northern Territory and far north Queensland.

None in the Murray river.

We have to worry about alligators and water moccasins in our rivers,
(Manatees also, but only to make sure we don't hit one), in the ocean inlets and the ocean we have to worry about sharks also. The fun outweighs the risk .

Hey Tash,

I'm in Oz also, all the way over near Nambucca Heads between Sydney and Brisbane. I'm about to buy myself a three seater with iBR and will probably take the deal they're offering too as I like the orange colour.

I was wondering whether they offered you any other incentive with price. I've been quoted $12,300 (AUD) ride/drive away.

Really looking forward to getting out on the water with it..

Hey mate,

Nah no other incentive really - for $10,998 I got the 2up with ibr, the cost included the trailer and 12 months rego. Insurance through Club Marine was $670 for 12 months and there was a dealer fee of just under $400.

I also got a cover for it and I'm glad I did.

I can say the boarding step is really helpful we've fallen off heaps already and the step makes re boarding really easy esp when you're taking a kid out for a ride with you.

When you get it, watch the safety video just for the section on how to turn the ski around if you flip it - I flipped it yesterday (basically just fell off at low speed and it came with me lol) and I was glad I knew where to grab it to re right it.

It's a fun ski!

Thanks for that. I expect to be in the drink a bit!

Be careful about where it's locked up. My buddy bought a brand new GTI 130. Put all the forementioned locks on the ski and had it in his fenced in back yard with a 8 ft tall fence. Neighbors camera shows two trucks roll up, one was a flat bed. Cut the fence locks and dragged the ski to the flatbed. Used the chains on the trailer to just get the ski around the corner where they then put it on the flatbed. Cops say its already out of the country by the time he reported it. Only 4hrs ON IT

OOOH!!!!

Ok I need to know where you got the VTS from mate!
Dealer here in Adelaide keeps insisting it's not available in Australia.
Can you PM me a link?

also - did installing the VTS void your warranty? it's one of the mods I most want to make but am worried about warranty

also also - was it hard to install?

Thats why its insured :)
because if someone really wants it then they will take it ..
All the locks just makes the insurance cheaper..

I once had a boat trailer stolen .. they took the boat off the trailer
in our yard then stole the trailer...

I have thought of getting a gps tracker but haven't found the exact type I want.
Either that or a motion alarm

Just walked in and picked it up from JSW power sports on the gold coast
http://www.jswpowersports.com.au
They had a couple just sitting on the shelf .. think it was $280

I didn't buy ski from them but have bought a few things there and
they are pretty good.

No idea about warranty.. There is no warning in the box saying it will
void warranty and nothing saying you need to be authorised to do the install
and it is pretty much plus and play.

There are a few threads on here on how to install.
The paperwork that comes with the kit is pretty useless ..
It wasn't hard to install but Im pretty handy so maybe it was just me.
The traps are it doesn't tell you to disconnect battery but you should.
Wrap your tools in tape when taking off battery lead as you might short
battery to engine or one of the other metal bits all too close to the battery.

The hardest part is taking apart the plug under the dash. You need to remove
some dummy pins so you can push in the new wiring. The threads on here
have people taking hours to remove the pins .. I took 1 minute ..
Either that was luck or I just pushed in the right place
All up took me just under and hour to install but I did spend many hours on forums
and going over the paperwork.

As for the VTS itself .. it can only be fitted to IBR models ..
It certainly changes the handling .. I was doing donuts and you can make
the back so loose you will come off or flip it sideways
At speed on chop it helps but your still on a spark so its not a magic bullet.
I used to do 82kph and can do 84kph with the trim just right
