Engine cleaning

I have not received my new engine access panel yet and I noticed when I take it off some salt spots. I have sprayed the engine with some marine grade corrosion preventer. I was wondering if it is safe to just spray the engine with a hose avoiding the battery?

I've only "looked around" with my top on, but, if you spray "downward" and avoid high pressure sprays, I'd think you would be fine, just rinse it well, wipe down with something absorbent where you can, then if possible, get the unit to the water and run it at modest rpms for a while to build some heat and dry, remove the panels, open bilge afterward and air dry. Should be fine!

I've rinsed the bottom of the hull from the access panel and drained with no problems.
Awesome, thanks for the info

Thanks Seaking, yeah their whole 'How to' series of videos is good -- people should check 'em out. They're all on the same 'Seadootv' youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/seadootv/videos
