I wish there was a way to turn off the ANNOYING LOW FUEL GONG of DEATH.
My display on my Orange Spark kept screeching at me seems like every 5-10 minutes as a result of a "FUEL SENSOR DEFECTIVE" warning immediately after start-up Friday afternoon.
The Spark was not empty.
Tried restarting several, unplugging the lanyard etc and gauge kinda came back. Display told me "low fuel" as the fuel indicator went up and down....went empty, Screeched at me again. Kind of embarrassing just off the ramp and you have the loudest computerized beep ever drawing the whole ramps attention JUST TO YOU.
My wife's Spark fuel gauge worked and she had a full tank so we just gauged off hers. Was not going to let some sensor prevent us from going on our first 12 miles one way excursion we had planned out.
Both are at the dealer now anyway for the steering recall so I mentioned the fuel sensor to the service girl if her techs could look at it while they replace the steering.
Good times good times. Big Toys take work to have fun. In fact, hope to get one of those BRP Can-Am Spyders in the future. (After 8 years my wife finally agreed to go and we went 2up several days ago on my Suzuki GSXR 600....at age 40, the crotch rocket is not as comfortable as it was when I was 30. She felt same and has been eyeballing the BRP Spyders since then.)
