Since the Spark uses a gps signal for calculating approximate speed, can this gps sensor be used to track the spark via an android or apple device?
This would be helpful for tracking rout plans, distances traveled, fuel economy and even tracking your spark if lost at sea or stolen.

It would be nice, But then the spark would have to have some kind of communication with your phone. (ie, Bluetooth, wifi...etc) I don't think it would be practical enough for BRP to bother setting a system like that up.
If you are looking to track your spark though, there are a few Vehicle security services that use GPS Sensors to locate your vehicle on a map if it is stolen. Getting one of those may help with your insurance too.

But for Distances and routes, there is likely an app that gives you full marine charts that utilize GPS. And for fuel economy... The spark is already amazing on fuel (vs. other PWC's) , just look at your fuel gauge and know your going to have about 4 hours until its empty ;)
