I never got a recall notice

I am not receiving mail from seadoo. Are people registering with them to get these notices? What do I need to do to be on their mailing list?

I know places like this forum are a great resource, and will probably keep me more up to date than other channels, but I would still like to get the notices.

I think going forward i'm going to try to keep an eye out on recalls and post them here as soon as I find out about it.

we can even suggest that the mods create a recall section of the forum, which will ultimately encourage people to post and discuss about recalls.

I know what recalls I have pending as of last week, but I don't want to be calling my dealer every week to be staying up to date.
Are you sure your Spark was recalled? Are all the Sparks affected?
The other one was the engine access cover.
Yup. I have new engine covers. I got them when I took them in to the dealership and they swapped them. I learned about it by reading here, and brought them there to be sure I had the most recent ones.

I'm on the wiring harness recall and the handlebar recall. I got this confirmed when I brought my sparks in for warranty repair service.

So, I have been involved with 3 recalls each on 2 sparks. No one has notified me of any of this. I have had to figure it out myself. Just wondering how I get notified.
Got my notice today- there in the mail!
Totally forgot about this. I know BRP has my address because I get mail from them all the time. But no recall notices for wiring harness, engine cover, or handlebars. Maybe I got a late model 2014? Still, I should call BRP and check eventually.

call your dealer
call your dealer
Haha. no need to. Rcvd two letters in the mail from BRP about broken handlebars in rough water resulting in my imminent DEATH.
We just got ours yesterday!!!! Our summer is over!!! Thanks Sea Doo for making a cheap jet ski everyone can afford and now all need repaired!

We will probably get them back in time to winterize them! Our dealer is two hours from where the jet skis are and won;t get in until Monday.

He has 7 ahead of our two!

We were so stupid!!!! Buying a brand new type of jet ski before others had tested it!
How many threads are you going to post the same sentence? If you don't like the ski...sell it. I am sure there are people that would buy it in a second.

Seriously? I mean seriously. You are emitting too many negatives waves for me. I'm sure BRP did test. But there is a big difference between factory testing and what the REAL WORLD PUBLIC will put one of these things through. Just do a youtube search for SEADOO spark and you'll see what I mean.

I do however feel for you in your two hour drive to a BRP dealer. That would suck. For myself, I won't be able to use my Sparks at least for the next couple weeks so I'm intending to drop mine off at the dealer and let them sit while till two steering columns come in. My dealer told me that BRP is fixing all the inventory Sparks first and then sold customers after that. My dealer normally takes a week to get parts anyway so a 2-3 week wait till I get mine back is no big thing for me. These aren't like cars where parts sit in huge warehouses.

Even if I didn't have plans, I'd probably still be riding my Sparks for the next couple weeks and would have taken them in at the end of the summer.
Back to the original topic, I got both recall notices yesterday. Fortunately, I had already called the dealer and had the parts on order, but I was surprised to see them so much later than many people.

I'm planning on riding definitely tomorrow, and maybe today if I can finish my job quickly enough.
You are very lucky as I heard the dealers have to fix the inventory in their shops first, then fix new skis they sold ready for pick up then they will get to us, the customers who bought in May!

Obviously you guys are loyal to Sea Doo and that is admirable. But I talked to a neighbor here who had his Sea Doo recalled twice the first year he had it back in 2012! Not even a Spark

Can anyone understand why I may be a bit skittish to continue riding it? If not I guess I will just hang on Face Book where people understand that if I had had one more hour my little cousin would have ridden that jet ski.

God Forbid he would have been hurt!

I can not take the chance that my husband, myself or our family would be hurt on these jet skis. I understand loyalty to Sea Doo but really what I have heard about their recall history has not been good! Even before the Sparks and moving from Canada to Mexico!

A neighbor told me his 2012 was recalled twice in one summer! Not good!
Please.....2014 Ford Escape....25k and it has ten recalls on it. Everything has problems, you don't see that. It has nothing to do with loyalty as much as Making a mountain out of a mole hill. Honda, yamaha, polaris even tiger shark (that's goimg way back for you old folk) had recalls. NOTHING is made perfect.

And you have had your ski for 3 MONTHS and you only have 4hrs on it. So it seems you barley ride it now since it is not even broken in. Guess this recall would kill you summer and those extra 2hrs you would have put on it.
Everyone has recalls. Now more than ever. You can see it as a problem, or you can see it as the company taking responsibility and fixing a problem so people don't get hurt. No recalls could mean the product is perfect, or it could mean the company isn't as willing to recall if they do know of a problem.
