Just heard of a Totalled spark

I know of a guy that rents out sparks for people to explore Lake Huron and Manitoulin island.

Anyway two 20 Year olds rented one and thought they lost the plug, But really it was just the exhaust flush port and they plugged it up with putty and ran it for 7 hours like that.

Not only that, they slammed into a dock destroying one of the fenders and also ran it up on land.

He tried to charge the credit Card of the two renting the spark and could only manage to put $10 on it...

Thank god he had full insurance (hoping they cover it)

Renting out anything would be such a nervous business.

All the places around here that rent stuff out, the skis are already in the water. I wonder how they got the ski out of the water, to even plug it up. Idiots

Yup, horrible way to go about it, dealing with having it on site in the water already is the best way. I know if it was up to me that's what i'd do.
Though it is a common question to wonder if the flush port is actually a hull drain that should be plugged I can't imagine why anyone would fill it with putty. Why not just run back to the rental place and ask about it?

This sounds truly awful. I hope that the engine didn't get damaged from lack of exhaust water flow. I suspect that the extra water that normally goes out the flush port would likely just be expelled from the exhaust instead.

Yeah I was also thinking that too, Or you'd think the exhaust would eventually get hot enough for the computer to shutdown the engine. It's just a **** shame that people can't have respect for things anymore.

I'll post updates as I hear it, even though it makes me cringe :crying:

the water that comes out of the flush port is just extra water. when you plug it it just pushes the extra water out the exhaust. It won't hurt anything.
