I thought the point of sparks was that they were cheap. I got mine last year for under 6k out the door in NH in May. Sold it with 20 hours by Mid June and got a GTI155.
at 8k i would be looking a gts or gti 130

hmm...looks like the 130 would be about 9155 OTD.
the GTS would be better handling etc. but are they any easier to maintain? oil change etc? If so that would be a big plus.

Thats about $1000 more than you should be paying OTD for that model.
You might want to research what your looking for a little deeper than just the price. The spark is in a catagory all its own which doesnt compare to anything else . Nothing even comes close if fuel economy which you wallet will thank you every time at the pump. It can carve, spin and slide just like the ski's of the 80's. It works great at speed in calm water and rivers and I would recomend one person riding at a time. Everything else out there guzzles fuel at double or triple the rate ,has the weight and size for hauling more people/towing or going fast in rough water.
Its like comparing a dirt bike to a honda gold wing. Get the machine that suits you.

this is how the dealer wrote up the invoice

6819.00 price of spark
200 labor
399 fright
= 7418.00
519 sales tax
110 DMV
=8047.00
I only bought my spark because I got it for new 5k out the door. I had to drive three hours to get it. It a good ski for 5 grand but 8 I think I would get the next model up. Maybe find last years model up. I did end up spending another 725 for the vtec programmer and 230 for reverse wich I am too lazy to put on. Just my input.
When I bought my spark this spring I talked 3 dealers in my area. The dealer I bought from sold me my 2up HO with IBR and conv pkg spark cover free tank of gas and water tested for 6774.00. He said they never charge a freight or set up fee ever. I did have to pay state tax of around 400.00 at our local courthouse. The other dealers wanted between 400 to 600 dollars more for the same unit. All 3 dealers had them in stock. The dealer I bought from gave me this price up front. No games to play.
I think that you should get them to drop the $200 labor, try to get them to reduce the freight charge, and do ytour own DMV stuff.

Or, if the money is no object, just poay the $8k.

I got 2 3-up with convenience and IBR last year for $7200ish each.

I just paid it...I pick it up next week!! can't wait to try it.
I asked my dealer why they didnt charge me for the bogus freight and labor charges that I see others paying. He said all those charges are already included in the msrp. Paying more than that is basically paying for shipping and handling twice. Its all just a gimmick to burn the suckers when it come to negotiating down their inflated price.
just think about it . If they get a shipment of 30 machines on a truck do you really think they paid $400 each($12000 total) for shipping. I posted my reciepts on other thread . I payed retail, sales tax and actual title fees and nothing else. Copy and print it out and ask your dealer to expalin how its possible.
I just purchased 2 60 hp season Sparks with a double trailer for 12258. Out the door.
Just bought a 2 up HO (bare bones) in Holland, MI. Ski + cover + numbers + fire extinguisher for $6650 out the door. They also threw in 2 neoprene sea doo vests and free delivery to our cottage. How did I do?

Oh yeah, also includes the promotional 3 yr extended warranty.
