Is this required? How is it done? Any special type of grease needed?

Just trying to get the ski ready before the season hits.

I've been reading reports of drive shafts in ocean water will rust. And same with the prop. But as long as you rinse these areas with fresh water, you should be okay. Not sure if this is a used method, but you can maybe apply a light coat of marine grease to the shaft.

Thanks for the reply SeaDood. How about the drive shaft bearings? Do they need greased/lubricated?

No drive shaft bearings on the spark. If you ride salt water remove the inpeller and antiseze the prop shaft.

Is this really required? I would thinking just flushing and rinsing the ski would be enough

Just the threaded bit where the prop spins on to the shaft. You will thank yourself when you want to remove the prop down the track.

Haven't had the impeller out of my spark, but older models were supposed to have loc-tite. Is that not the case with the spark?

Iv always used antiseze as my skis are used in salt 60% of the time. Never had a prop back off.
