I always open the starboard side drain plug as I assumed it was the only drain plug. Well I climbed under and noticed a missing drain plug on the port side. Should there be a cap on this? Is it used for the flushing? I never take it into salt water so I hadn't bothered with a flush. I can't even fathom if there was a plug there how I lost it. Thanks for any advice.

No plug in the port(left) side hole. It's for flushing your exhaust system. There might be some flow through it when the engine is running but I've never checked.
The procedure for flushing your exhaust is found on pages 91 & 92 of the Spark Operator's Guide.

Thanks guys for all the help. I tried the owners manual and it wasn't clear if a plug should be there but now I know it's not. Thanks again.
