Pattern? List Your Spark Production Date & Problems You Have Had (Or None)

I'm wondering if we can piece together problems people have been having with their Spark by the " batch" of sparks made.

List your manufacture date, Problems you have had (or say none) and hours you have put on your spark. If you don't know your manufacture date call BRP and give them your VIN. It may be listed somewhere on the Spark too but I haven't looked for it yet.

I'm wondering if for example all the people with handle bar problems were made in a certain month etc, the people with wear ring problems made in a certain month ( doubt they would update the wear ring but ya never know)

How do I get my manufacture date? No problems so far, but the pink one takes on water when capsized. The orange one stays dry. 12.5 hours on each.

The HIN # is above the RHS sponson , the last 3 digits is the month and year I.e 414= April 2014 ...

Both of mine were made 4/14 one has a small crack in handle bars and the other had the hull cracked but was really my fault.
pretty sure the last 4 digits tell you date and year info (D414), the letter tells you the month (i.e. a=January, b=February, c=March, d=April) third last digit is the year of manufacture (i.e. 4=2014) and the last two digits tell you the model year (i.e. 14=2014) for example in the case of the old gsx limited that was an late release 97 they were called a 98 last 3 digits of the serial number were 798 manufactured in the year 1997 model year 1998 (it had red and silver coloration). the next year they had the full production gsx limited and it had a serial number ending in 898 (and it had red and purple coloration)

Well, looks like my pink one is February 2014, and my orange one is March 2014.

Going back out on the lake in an hour. Hope they are all issue free still at the end of the day.
When i plug in the dess and press the start/stop button it dosent wanna start. Figured out you need to start "the brain" first by pressing the start/stop button before plugging in the dess. But the problem is that if i dont start the brain first it wont start and it stays like that for 10-15 minutes before i can start again. It's totally dead for the 10-15 mins.... Anyone else have this problem?

Rob so the pink one is a month older and takes on water. I wonder if between February and March they made the seal better or something. Patrick I knew what you meant but that doesn't sound normal to me I can plug in my clamp on key or whatever you want to call it and then hit power and it turns on fine. I don't believe you should have to hit the start button to wake it up before plugging the key in.
2-up is Nov 2013 (17 hours, no issues), 3-up is April 2014 (7 hours, no issues)

2-UP HO is April D414 -24 Hours No problems.
ok so far we have here

1 spark made in nov 2013 - no problems
1 spark made in feb 2014 - excess water getting into hull
2 sparks made in march 2014 - 1 handle bar crack, 1 hull problem ( both potentially user error problems per owner)
3 sparks made in April 2014 - no problems

keep it coming guys, still trying to build a view of potential patterns :)
how long is it capsized for? the hull is not completely sealed, they have to have air flow in the hull or the engine can't get air, they shouldn't be left upside-down any longer than you have to, and remember to let them sit for a minute to let the oil setting again.

2 seater in orange made in April check engine light came on after dumping it, but pretty sure it was driver error, runs fine otherwise, no light anymore, no other issues with it. 6 hours

3 seater in orange made in April no issues 10 hrs.

My march 2014 orange one has no problems. My pink one now has a failed reboarding step. Inspected both for cracked bars at 14.5 hours today. Bars are fine.
