Hi all,
I'm new to the forums but I'm very excited and ready to make my first PWC purchase. I rode my buddies Spark, loved it, and decided I'm ready to join the club. ?

However, I could use some experienced advice while making sure that I make the right purchase. I found what I believe is a solid deal on a brand new never ridden red 2017 2up w/ ibr convenience package. They want 5500 for it. First, is this a good deal??

Second I want to make sure that this year is going to be enough for me as far as technology goes. I believe the extended VTS is supported by 2017 and later, correct? I definitely want the extended specifically and would install it myself so that shouldn't be a significant upgrade in price (200?). Ideally I'd also get the extended handlebars but that's not a deal-breaker if I don't get that immediately.

Down the road soon I'd even like to turn it into a 3up and get the more comfortable seat as well. I've read a couple of threads were people did that for 3-500 ish??

I feel like the 5500 base price would give me some wiggle room to customize it quite nicely and still keep the price reasonable. Course I'd need a trailer as well I have to factor that in.

If anybody would be willing to let me know if this is a solid deal and if the 2017 has any other significant hardware differences from the 18s and/or 19s (aside from color schemes), I would greatly appreciate it!!

TIA!!

Personally I don't know enough about the new 2019-20 vs 17 but why get a 3 year old ski for the price of a new one? I mean it could affect resell, lets say you keep it 10 years and sell a 2020 thats a 10 year old ski for 2-3k vs maybe a 13 year old for 1.5-2. Could be about 500 in difference in price especially if your talking 12 vs 15 years. I know a lot of people like me that'll pick up a 12 year old ski 15 and you start getting up there. I have a 17 year old GTX running pretty darn good still though so.
