I came across an interesting thread over on green hulk looking at the new Solas impeller for the spark vs the stocker.

I've only brought over the averages as I don't want to infringe on their proprietary data, head over to their thread for fully vested info.

Solas

0-30: 1.79 seconds
0-45: 3.75 seconds
0-50: 6.37 seconds

top speed: 51.8 mph
RPM: 7848

Stock

0-30: 2 seconds
0-45: 4.38 seconds
0-50: 10.55 seconds

top speed: 50.37 mph
RPM: 8029

So I suppose it is interesting that the lower RPMs equal a better top speed, one commenter claims that the Solas impeller actually does more for performance than a V-Tech tune on the HO.

Curious if we can shed some more light on this, $239 for a similar performance bump sounds much more economical over the $939 for the V-Tech kit...

I saw this graph a while back and as soon as I did I came to the conclusion that tuning a 90 was an out and out waste of money with several potential down sides.there were all kinds of
anecdotal reports of improved performance but sorry, the graphs and the numbers don't lie.
If you want performance buy the HO . Everyone chasing to tune, is a case of the "Emperor's
Clothing". I also never got why people think that higher RPM always means increased performance. That is not necessarily the case . Notice with the Solas prop the RPM was lower and performance improved rather substantially. I will buy the Solas prop. Good bang for the buck but there is no tuning in my future.

I agree! When I get more reports on the Solas I will probably get it and I am hoping there intake grate (No Out Yet) will compliment it enough for a decent gain!
I can,t see the tune for a 90HO or the $2,500 list of goodies when I think the main block to more speed is the pump processing more water and Not Excessive RPM,s?

Figure its $939 for the module and the software for a bump up to 109 hp.

If your spark came stock with 60 hp you're looking at a 49 hp gain or $19.16/hp gained

If your spark came stock with 90 hp you're looking at a 19 hp gain or $49.42/hp gained

Ya so I just bought the Solas impeller. Seems to me from what I been reading on these forms and on Greenhulk the impeller gives you the extra kick and for 275$ after shipping it's well worth it. Would love some help installing this if anyone in south Florida knows there stuff!

My buddy just purchased the solas and I installed it for him today, we will be testing it out on Sunday and taking a video of solas vs stock.

Would love your help on the install of the Solas impeller. Dono when it will be coming but when it dose I would much rather learn how to do it the. To pay 175$ to get it done from the local shop.

Nope I have the 2up 60 no ibr so should be one less step. I will call them and find out when mine comes in and make sure it can get here some time this week. That sounds like a good plan!
