Well its solidly fall in the northern hemisphere. Maybe some people close to the equator can still ride but most of us are turning in our sea doos for fall jackets.

I was curious if there are any owners who live in the southern hemisphere where it is just turning to spring and summer now. Are you guys getting excited for the riding season to begin?

Had a couple of rides in June & July (winter over here) when it got to 20C (68F), but it had to be a cloud free day as there wasn't much heat in the sun. From now to end of March any day will be ok, subject to wind direction and strength. We will be thinking of you all in the Northern hemisphere.......

had 4 hours playing Auckland harbour yesterday....16 c 10 knot variable wind...almost flat sea ;).great
Yeah I wish we could ride in Sydney Harbour....jetskis are banned, most likely due to w....rs a few years back making idiots of themselves :crying:.Anyway we aren't short of liquid assets, my nearest ramp is 10 mins. drive. Are things pretty free in NZ re access to waterways?

yep...as far as Im aware you can go anywhere..sea or rivers..the larger rivers have hydro dams which are are a bit hard to jump!!! .a few marinas have ski bans...again probably ...kers not observing no wake zones....pity really as it compulsory to display rego number so you are traceable as is the case world wide!

I didn't realize that it stayed nice enough to ride all year round in Australia. If you are more southern is that still the case?

Lucky guys getting to ride all year long. I like the seasonal weather though. I would get sick of warm weather all the time. I like the snow (for about a month and then I'm tired of it again.)

We have snow resorts here, on the Victorian and New South Wales state border, the season is May to October if they're lucky. Sydney is on 34 degrees latitude south, about the same as Florida is north, and while we don't get snow, there was a recent fall 120 klms west in the Blue Mountains, height about 3000 ft. The further south towards Antarctica the cooler it gets, though last week temps got to mid 30's centigrade on the south coast followed by severe rain and lightning. Melbourne is known as the city with 4 seasons in one day! There can be huge variations through Australia, land mass is about the same as North America with a wet season and a dry season in the north near the Tropic of Capricorn. Apart from most of July and August we can jetski with or without a 3mm wetsuit just about anytime. On a different note I think it would be interesting if every member of the forum added their location to their ID, just to see what others have available by way of water access and weather conditions for their toys.
