I bought a learning key so my kids won't go over 35 mph or so.

I called one dealer and they said it would cost $50 to program
Another dealer said that the sparks don't need a learning key since they only go 50 mph.
The third dealer said that the learning key is already pre programmed

Anyone here have bought a learning key and got it programmed?

the key is just a magnet no smarts just touring mode and sports if you got sports mode don't know what they trying to sell you

I think Xdrains right. The spark Keys are interchangeable.

I made up from a drink bottle lid glued a magnet in side just for flushing works well save having to drag out the PFD

Like the other guys said the key isn't capable of changing the performance of the spark, on most other Seadoo's yes, but there isn't a learning key for the spark, the only key option there is for the spark is to add DESS security to the machine.

What is DESS security? Is it a seadoo product or an after market product?

Actually as of 2016 the new sparks do have a performance "key" and a learning "key" you must take it to the dealer to have them hook it up to the computer to program it. I work at a powersports shop and am currently setting up a spark with TWO keys (performance and learning)
