Steering loud clicking noise on right turn

Hey everyone,

I've just been running the spark after it's first winter for the last couple weekends, and on launch today I started getting a click when turning the handlebars to the right. It doesn't do it when it turns left, only when going back right. The click is very quiet and can be only felt when the machine is off, but as soon as you start the machine it makes some noise (I'm assuming some pressure on the steering mechanism), but the faster I get going, the louder the noise. It gets to the point at full speed the noise is louder than the engine.

Any ideas what it could be, or has anyone experienced this?

Popping the side off and putting downward pressure on the steering arm seems to help it go away a bit.

I also had a clicking sound lately! It came when i took the top deck of to change the spark plugs. I loosened up the linkage between the cable and bars, and it worked. I also sprayed some lube in there

Hey, thanks Patrick. I thought I had it gone, dealership took a look and said nothing was wrong with it but it started doing it again. Are you talking about the linkage under the top deck? or in the front compartment? The clicking on mine actually sounds like it's coming from the steering column more than anything. Can't figure it out and I feel like I'm wearing away at something everytime it clicks!

Im talking about the linkage between the column and steering cable, the one you have to disconnect when you're taking the top deck off. Here is a pic of the bolt you need to loosen up:

The red writing says to remove the bolt, but i took a screenshot of a "how to remove upper deck" video.

Mine was clicking a little bit after this, but after a few rides it will disappear by itself

Hi Patrick my spark is doing the same but both left and right. Did you end up figuring out what was wrong with it and how to fix it?
