Kawasaki has a 310 horsepower PWC on sale and it costs $16,000. That is expensive in my opinion. Now this jet ski goes super fast and looks like a lot of fun, but how many people are willing to spend that amount of money on a PWC. You could buy a car with that money! Or 3 Sea-Doo Sparks.

Sure the Ultra 310 goes faster than the Spark. If you jam the throttle open you will fly off the back and stopping all the sudden will slow you down from 65 mph awfully fast.

Is it worth it? Three times as much money to go faster?

I don't think so.

Being a long time Kawasaki fan, I highly respect Sea doo for making an entry level, fun and very affordable PWC. I'm also hoping Kawasaki and Yamaha do the same. With that said, Comparing the spark in any flavor to the Ultra Series is the proverbial apples to oranges. Me also being a gear head love the roots style supercharger and high HP wave handling capability. So for me the extra $$ is well worth it. Although not 15k lol, I always buy end of summer deals. :).

Point is I definitely appreciate people liking the spark and it's price, but there are those like myself that want more for various reasons. :)

For years I've watched PWC turn into these big pseudo boat type 5 figure priced things. If I want to spend $16,000 Im going to buy a real boat.

That's the problem all the PWC manuf had until Sea Doo decided to shake it up. For $16,000, they are catering to a much older more well to do different tax bracket group who want a smooth ride like offered in a larger 8-12 passenger boat. The Manufs lost sight of what a product like a Sea Doo is for. Light fast and fun. Something to be used in tandem with family friends who have a boat. Now don't knock me. I know there is a group that want the high Horsepower biggest engine you can carry supercharger turbo spare no expense I'll buy it with a bank loan crowd. But the whole line-up offering does not have to be scaled derivatives of that monster machine. I like Horsepower too. For me with a family I can buy a pair of Sparks instead of one solitary fast machine.

I look at a Sea Doo like a snowmachine/snowmobile. Would you pay $16000+ for one of those? No you wouldn't.

I agree. But for the record I am not a well to do guy by any means. I work 3 jobs and the few times I have off I want to go balls out fast and enjoy my gear headed self. :).

Not to say I wouldn't enjoy a spark style watercraft though, I 100% agree the manufactures lost sight. I still think there is room for niche watercraft like my ultra, but a small light maneuverable wave jumper is always a blast. :)

I sold my RXT-X (69 MPH GPS Stock) Last august as I was Tired of $50 of gas for 2 hours and then the "Spark" appeared!!! Now I go 3 1/2 hours averaging about 37 and it only uses 6 Gallons or $24. I Love the Spark- Its Better than the 2 Supercharged Skies I have had and a Lot more fun- BUT Sea Doo Give us a Better seat, Please!!!! Because some of us cruise 50 Miles or More on it?
