Towing with a 2up with the HO engine

I have read that only the 3 up an tow is that based on the horsepower? If so would a 2up HO be able to safely tow?

I'm curious...I am going to have to wait for a 3up. Just spoke to my dealer and there are no more sparks being delivered this year. That said, will the 2up that I am getting be able to pull an 80 pound kid on a tube?
I don't know where you are but in my state you have to have a three up to tow. Driver, Spotter and Person being towed.

You make a good point!

I was thinking private lake with a friend on his ski 'spotting'.
The 2up HO should have no problem pulling, it is the same mechanically as the 3up just shorter. The only prob would be you boating regs in your state. But if your at a private lake I would think you should be good to go!
Most likely you need a 3up and possibly mirrors to be legal to tow a Skier or a Tuber
it would tow an 80lb kid on a tube with no problem...if youre on a private lake (like I am), then you really don't have to worry about boat regs unless an accident happens...then you might have to face consequences of not being in compliance...

Hard to believe it would only tow an 80lb kid with a tube on the HO. I've
towed adults with a 90 hp outboard without issue . Those boats toped out in the low 30s without pulling.
I thought it had to be a three seater to tow a tube.
Is their some set fine or something if you're caught not towing properly?

A tube or float.

Thanks that makes sense I guess it is more about the rules or laws than the power of the ski.
