I have a 60hp spark which was mapped to 110hp before it went in the water. I now have a few hours on it and want to start fitting some aftermarket parts, but can't decide where to start. The bits I'm think of installing are:
- Riva free flow exhaust
- Riva water box
- R&D intake (I'm still questioning if this is going to offer any benefit over stock air box??)
- Removing spark arrestor
- Stainless wear ring
- Solas prop
- R&D grate

So do any of you have any suggestions in what order I should install them? It'll probably be over a few months.

Hmm... I think that the order that you install mostly has to do with what your priorities are. There may be some logistical decisions that are to do with which mods will accentuate others, but mostly I think it depends on what you like most.

Can you give us more info on what your priorities are?

Ultimately I want make it as rapid as possible without jeopdising reliability. I have to admit that im tempted to fit an exhaust and water box first, but this my be more about the noise rather than performance!!

I mainly ride on a 45acre fresh water lake and most enjoy riding the buoy course. I do also have to tow the kids on their ringo and kneeboard, but I'm sure non of the mods will effect my ability to do this.

I've not listed sponsons or ride plate as I am happy with the way that the ski handles as present. I know it could be better, but I think it will help me to improve my technique if I can learn to push the ski to its current limits.

Just got my 60hp (Tuned) spark on the water with the following mods. First thing I did was do the R D intake and V tech tune together. Stock prop. Took it out and ran great..good power out of the hole and ran 8250 rpm. Speedo says 50mph. I then added the Riva free flow exhaust and Solas 12/17 prop and took out yesterday. Thing is a beast out of the hole and pulls even harder to top speed. My experience and seat of the pants tells me I'm going about 55mph..still need to radar. The rpms are now 7650 but top speed feels faster. All around pull is up to par with my RXDI and hits harder out of the hole. Even if I lean all the way forward over the handle bars it will jump out of the water and the pump will not hook up. Trim tabs are the next and last upgrade. I Really don't see a need for an aftermarket scoop grate. My goal was to duplicate the performance of my 1999 SPX and the spark does that and more. Also dropped the sponsons down and re-drilled. I don't see the need for aftermarket sponsons either. I think the free flow intake, exhaust, and tune with the solas prop is a great setup. I hope that helps!
