Whats the P/W

Just wondering if anyone has done some quick and dirty P/W comparisons with higher end sleds? Would be cool to figure out just how far the Spark can punch its way up the food chain ;)

There is this thread about Spark competitors.

Most comparisons will be lopsided for the Spark though. It has less power than other PWCs and it costs far less.
Claimed HP leader is the Kawasaki Ultra 300X @ 1040 lbs wet / 300 hp / 1498cc = 3.47 to 1 and $15,000.00 / 1040 = $14.42 lb. <- that's a really useless stat, but more is better.

Yamaha VXSport (The Rental Unit) @ 736 lbs dry / ? hp = no idea, but 1052cc and $8,400.00 / 736 = $11.41 lb.

3-up Spark @ 421 lbs dry, let's say 450 lbs wet / 90 hp / 900cc = 5 to 1 and $6,300.00 / 421 = $14.96 lb.

2-up Spark @ 405 lbs dry, let's say 435 lbs wet / 90 hp / 900cc = 4.83 to 1 and $5,700.00 / 421 = $14.07 lb.

at least the 2 up spark is a lean beast, just needs a VTECH tune or even turbo for crazy people like me and it will send us flying on the water,
300 hp compared to the 90 hp of the Spark! That is a huge difference! Just imagine having three times as much power under you when riding. I don't think that people really want to race their PWC usually. It is just for casual fun so I'm not sure why so many companies are making PWCs that could be used in a racing series.

600 more pounds I wouldn't want to shove off of the beach either. For what I bought the spark for, and the instant grin factor while on the water, it's just about right.

You'd be surprised at how many people race PWC's, they're just motorcycles for the water. Do some googling you'll even find plenty of spec race series.

Plus many people use their PWC's like boats. With a 300hp burly boy you can easily tow a skier or two. Also don't forget that many use them for long distance touring...
I would feel more safe racing a boat than i would with a PWC. For a long time i've stuck to riding PWC's how i got them, stock. I can see myself doing a VTECH mod and thats it.
