If anyone has this problem, just remove like 5 bolts from the back of the doo and check the wear ring, 70$ about to replace and then if the impeller is chipped just file it.... dealer in kelowna was gonna charge us 1000 bucks when really all that is needed is a wear ring replacement.. save ur money and do it urself!!!
AMEN!!! Greater Vancouver Powersports in Chilliwack quoted me $770 today for wear ring, gasket seal and impeller. My impeller looks not to bad to me and I am certain I can change out the wear ring myself. Screw dealerships...they are evil

I'll never go back there again...I have had the unit for 1 hour...1 freaking hour, and they had no sympathy, didn't offer any type of discount...nothing. Jerk offs, over there.

Kids beached my rented spark after 5 minutes at the lake and sucked up a bunch of rocks. A dealer at the vacation destination said he could probably get to it sometime by the end of the week. After reading this forum, I decided to tackle the job myself. $73.73 for a new wear ring and a bit of filing on the prop and we were back in business in less than 2 hrs. (actual repair took less than 25 minutes). It runs just like new!

Excellent work! That's the way it should be.

Good job. Make sure to put blue lock tight on all the bolts

Sorry I'm late to the party. My doo is not rocketing off anymore. But if I ease it up I can hit max speed. Looks like the sand sucked up 30 hours ago has caught up to me. I'll just get a few plastics and a steel ring and gone about my business. If anyone is in Houston and has this problem I can help ya!! Happy riding.

Hi, i have the same problem than you twice again, each time i stop the Spark during ten minutes, look Under intake grate, nothing, i think it was CAVITATION, why? i don't know, but two times the same problem, vibration and no speed, at the beggining i think that i lost something, maybe on the engine, but take care about the dealers said, because is always différent, in France i contact an old French Jet champion, he answer me that the cause is one of the tree spark plugg was dead....in this case, stop ten minutes change nothing, now i'm sure that he drive better than he could do mechanics....

So I got it back, and total it cost me over $800 to repair it. I know I got ripped off. They told me it was some tiny nicks in the impeller and the wear ring. I had them save the parts they removed so I could look at them myself. I am not a mechanic, or an expert in jet propulsion, but I don't think the "damage" on the impeller would be enough to cause the ski to act like it did. I'm attaching some pictures of the "damaged" wear ring and prop. I had less than 2 hours on it at this point, and the stickers hadn't even worn off yet!

Just a heads up, if you don't know what you're doing when it comes to mechanical things like repairs, do NOT go to Bert's in So. Cal. I knew it was a bad idea to take it to such a big dealership, but the convenience of them being only a few miles away outweighed it. I know, now, to not deal with Bert's Mega Mall again in the future.

Side note: I bought it from Bert's as well (about 3 weeks before this happened), and it's the bare-bones 2up model, and it still cost me over $7200 out the door after taxes and big dealership fees.
good lord dude ! in 2014 these coat around $4800. you were robbed !!!

I just decided to take it into the dealer to have them take a look at it. I'm waiting to hear back from them now. Upon a cursory inspection when dropping it off they had no idea what was wrong, but mentioned that the impeller had a few nicks in it. Hopefully it is something as simple as the wear ring...
Was it the wear ring or stripped driveshaft?
